Technical Specifications

To use Moodle effectively as a student, you should have the following technical specifications:

1. Basic Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience navigating the Internet and using Internet browsers
  • Basic knowledge of formatting using a word processor
  • Comfort working with multiple windows
  • Web Netiquette knowledge

2. Web Browser:

  • Moodle is accessible through various web browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Make sure your browser is up-to-date.

3. Operating System:

  •  Moodle is a web-based platform and is compatible with various operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.

4. Internet Connection:

  • A stable and reasonably fast internet connection is necessary for accessing course materials, uploading assignments, and participating in online discussions. Broadband is preferred, but mobile data LTE or faster is also suitable

5. Device:

  • Moodle is designed to be responsive and can be accessed on various devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

6. Software Requirements:

  • Ensure that you have essential software like a PDF reader, word processor, and any other specific software required for your courses.

7. Plugins and Additional Software:

  • Some courses may require specific plugins or additional software. Ensure that your system meets any specific requirements outlined in the "About this course" section.
  • You will need headphones, a mic and a webcam for your courses, especially if you will be having live Zoom classes.
  • You will need a webcam and you may need to download software to take any online examinations.

8. JavaScript and Cookies:

  • Enable JavaScript and ensure that cookies are enabled in your web browser as Moodle relies on these technologies for various functionalities.
