This course examines various responses to colonialism and post-colonialism through analysis of representative literary works from former British colonial territories: the Indian subcontinent, Africa, Australia and the Caribbean. Students apply a range of post-colonial theories to the analysis of literary texts within historical, cultural and political contexts.
