Students review and demonstrate basic scuba diving skills in order to study and explore the underwater environment. Students study equipment setup, record-keeping and underwater navigation. They also apply the physics of breathing compressed air at depth and safety practices necessary to avoid injury, after which they gain scuba diving certification.
