Students examine the diversity, biology and evolution of Chondrichthyes, a class of fish that includes sharks, skates, rays and chimaeras. They analyse the anatomy and physiology of these cartilaginous fish, specifically their sensory systems, reproduction, development and behaviour. Students explain human impact on Chondrichthyes and describe conservation efforts towards them.
