Students are introduced to poetic verse forms to strengthen their understanding of the history of verse in poetic tradition. They learn to write in and analyse multiple forms, strengthening their vocabulary of literary and poetic techniques. Students build insight into authorial choice as a strategy for reading and interpreting verse.
