Fall 2023 Race, Class, Gender in the Late 19th & Early 20th Century Bahamas (HIST-325-01)

In this course, students explore issues of race, class and gender in the post emancipation period
in The Bahamas. Emphasis is on strategies used by a small white agro-commercial oligarchy to
retain its position of power over the coloured and black classes.
