Students examine issues of race, ethnicity, class and gender in The Bahamas since the post-Emancipation period with emphasis on race relations in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Prohibition, tourism and Jim Crow Laws, labour and class conflict, migration, the women's suffrage movement, Independence and persisting inequalities.
